Former Nashville SC Player Liam Doyle Named Huntsville City FC Director Of Soccer Operations

Huntsville City Football Club has appointed former Nashville Soccer Club player in the USL Championship side Liam Doyle as Director of Soccer Operations for the MLS NEXT Pro club.

Doyle joins Managing Director of Business Operations Chad Emerson in the front office for Huntsville City FC’s inaugural season.

“We are delighted to have Liam play a role in Huntsville City FC,” says Mike Jacobs, General Manager of Nashville SC and its affiliates. “His extensive playing experiences, and specifically with MLS second teams, is a huge asset to add to our group in its first season as an expansion club. Coupled with his passion and enthusiasm, he will be a tremendous asset to our group.”

Doyle returns to a familiar organization and leadership group after playing for Nashville SC in the USL Championship during the 2018 and 2019 seasons. The former Nashville SC player brings an extensive understanding of the second and third divisions in the U.S. Soccer landscape, having played for Penn FC (formerly the Harrisburg City Islanders), Sporting Kansas City II (formerly Swope Park Rangers), Memphis 901 FC, San Antonio FC, and most recently LA Galaxy II where he served as the team’s captain for the 2022 season.

In his role, Doyle will use that expertise and knowledge to provide strategic leadership and oversight of soccer operations. Additionally, he will assist with player identification, and supply day-to-day updates and collaborating on all operations with the Nashville SC technical staff.

“I’m thrilled to be rejoining the Nashville SC organization and its MLS NEXT Pro affiliate team in Huntsville,” Doyle adds. “Having a familiarity with the organization is something in which I take pride and hope will help this team’s success, and I couldn’t be more grateful to have the ability to continue learning from this group in the next step of my soccer career.”

Huntsville City FC will make Joe Davis Stadium in northern Alabama its home following completed renovations in May 2023.
