Predators Continue To Slim Roster As Training Camp Winds Down

The Nashville Predators have announced the move of four players to the organizations AHL team in Milwaukee, slimming the roster down to just 28. The team cut the roster down to 33 on Monday (Oct. 4), leaving 16 forwards, nine defensemen and three goaltenders.

The Preds assigned forwards Tommy Novak and Anthony Richard; defenseman David Farrance; and goaltender Devin Cooley to Milwaukee. Defensemen Matt Donovan and Josh Healey have been released from their tryout agreements and will report to Milwaukee.

Today (Oct. 5), Nashville assigned forwards Matt Luff and Cole Smith and defensemen Frederic Allard and Matt Tennyson to Milwaukee (AHL). Forward Rem Pitlick was claimed on waivers by the Minnesota Wild.

The Preds will play two more preseason games, both against the Carolina Hurricanes tonight and on Saturday, Oct. 9. They will continue to cut the roster until they reach 23 players before the season-opener on Oct. 14 against the Seattle Kraken.
