Nashville SC Helps Paint Mural For Community At The TIRRC Headquarters

Nashville SC partnered with the Tennessee Immigrant and Refugee Rights Coalition (TIRRC) to host a Paint the Pitch day at TIRRC’s new headquarters in Antioch last month.

Club staff and volunteers painted a mural surrounding the club’s new community mini pitch, which will provide a much-needed recreation space for youth and families in the area. Over 30 community volunteers came together to help 10 local volunteer artists complete the vibrant mural. Sherwin Williams, the official paint of Nashville SC, provided the paint and supplies to create the mural.

“Community is at the heart of everything that we do,” says Nashville SC Senior Director of Community Engagement Brandon Hill. “TIRRC is an amazing organization that’s well known in our community for supporting the international community, and diversity is a really important thing for us. We want to support organizations that are supporting the Nashville community, and that’s why we’re here.”

“No matter what your race, religion, socioeconomic status, sexual orientation is, soccer is here for everyone,” Hill says. “Our game is one that represents the entire world, and we want to show that inclusivity and that spirit of unity.”

The Paint the Pitch day of service was part of the MLS WORKS Soccer For All initiative and the League’s commitment to supporting the communities where we live and play the game. The mural features flags from around the world, representing the countries of origin of TIRRC members.

“Soccer is such an integral sport to our communities and our work and our organization together,” says Lisa Sherman-Nikolaus, TIRRC’s Executive Director. “We’re just so excited to have Nashville SC be a part of that work and help bring immigrants and refugees and their U.S.-born neighbors together to form stronger bonds and stronger relationships and make our community more united.”

Nissan Stadium To Open At Near Full Capacity For Nashville SC Matches

Nashville SC has announced that fans will be allowed at Nissan Stadium in a near full capacity setting starting Sunday, May 23 when Nashville SC hosts Austin FC.

This decision comes after Mayor John Cooper’s recent reopening announcement, and with approval from Major League Soccer. Masks will also no longer be required while outdoors at Nissan Stadium. However, face coverings are strongly encouraged in this new layout in accordance with Metro Public Health and per MLS’ COVID-19 protocol update.

“As we welcome more fans into Nissan Stadium, we are committed to finding the right balance between allowing people to return to soccer in as normal an environment as possible, whilst at the same time respecting that some people’s choices may differ from others,” says Nashville SC CEO Ian Ayre. “Equally we have to work with the space and options available to us to try to provide as much choice as possible within a changing environment.”

The reopening will allow the majority of season ticket holders, who were originally relocated due to COVID-19 restrictions, to return to their original seat locations in a non-socially distanced environment. Per MLS’ COVID-19 restrictions, seats located in the lower bowl behind designated media positions and player areas, such as benches, tunnels and warm-up areas will remain unavailable.

For those season ticket holders who prefer to remain in a masked and socially distanced environment, Nashville SC will work with them to provide alternative seating options where social distancing and masks will be mandatory.

Fans interested in securing their seats at Nissan Stadium for the first match in a near full capacity setting against Austin FC can visit NashvilleSC.com/Tickets. For more information on Nashville SC’s matchday policies, visit nashvillesc.com/matchday.

Nashville SC announced that it has loaned goalkeeper Elliot Panicco and defender Nick Hinds to Austin Bold FC of the USL Championship for the 2021 season.

NSC selected Panicco with the No. 13 overall pick in the 2020 Major League Soccer SuperDraft. The goalkeeper was signed to an MLS contract on Feb. 25 of 2020 and has yet to make his debut with the club.

Hinds joined Nashville on Feb. 22 of 2021 after Nashville SC acquired his Homegrown priority from Seattle Sounders FC. While in Seattle, Hinds made 68 total appearances for the club’s USL Championship side Sounders 2 as well as for Tacoma Defiance.

Nashville SC has the ability to terminate the loan agreement at any point throughout the season.

New Nashville SC Stadium’s Premium Club Seating Goes On Sale May 3

Premium seating for the WeHo Club and the Goal Post Club at the new Nashville SC Stadium will go on sale exclusively to NSC season ticket members on Monday (May 3) and to the general public on May 24.

These new clubs are set to become a special experience for soccer fans. Honky-tonks are an iconic essential part of the downtown Nashville scene, and as such have found their way into the new Nashville SC Stadium. The WeHo Club will feature a Honky-tonk themed environment with décor, live music, food and drink items that celebrate the legacy of Broadway in Music City.

“As with all of our stadium elements we put a lot of thought into different areas and different experiences,” says Nashville SC CEO Ian Ayre. “The WeHo club is a tribute to our new home in the Wedgewood Houston area, combining all that is Nashville, sport, music, great food and fun times in a Nashville Honky Tonk inspired style. A unique gameday experience and an ideal venue for parties and celebrations with music and entertainment.”

Earlier this year the club unveiled the Premier Club and Loge Box seating options for the new Nashville SC Stadium, both of which are now sold out due to a high interest and demand from the Nashville soccer community.

“The Goal Post is part of our ambition to bring a vibrant high energy sport’s lounge to the building,” says Ayre. “As with many of our facilities it will be alive for soccer and all sports on game days, up to the minute scores and information, and equally exciting on none game days for watch parties and other events.”

NSC fans can get a more in-depth view of the new Nashville SC Stadium with the Virtual Venue that features an architecturally accurate 3D map and full virtual reality views that allows fans to have an interactive look through seat technology inside their new home.

Coming in 2022 and located just south of downtown in the vibrant Wedgewood-Houston neighborhood, the stadium will be Music City’s newest home for MLS soccer, live music and more. The stadium boasts 30,000 seats, seven premium areas, 27 suites, safe-standing supporters’ section, and the most concert-ready venue in MLS.

Nashville Soccer Club has announced they have signed midfielder Irakoze Donasiyano to an MLS contract.

The University of Virginia graduate was drafted by NSC in the first round of 2021 Major League Soccer SuperDraft with the teams 20 pick.

“Koze has a lot of positive attributes that really mesh well with our team,” says Nashville SC General Manager Mike Jacobs. “His athleticism and work-rate help him cover a lot of ground on both sides of the ball, and he has a tremendous attitude and energy that make him a real competitor. His versatility enables him to play multiple roles in the group as well.”

In college, Donasiyano played four seasons at Virginia, including a condensed 2020/21 campaign. He appeared in 65 matches for the Cavaliers, with 56 starts and logged 5,247 minutes in route to a Third Team All-ACC selection in 2019.

Donasiyano became one of four players to play every match in the last two seasons for the Cavaliers. He scored both goals in a 2-0 win over Pacific University on opening night in 2019 and became the first Cavalier with a brace in a season opener since 2009.

Donasiyano has been training with the team for the past two weeks but will now join the squad as it prepares to take on Inter Miami CF on Saturday at Nissan Stadium.
