John Overton Alumni Ugo Amadi Organizes Shoe Giveaway With Fellow NFL Players

John Overton High School Alumni and Seattle Seahawk safety Ugo Amadi is setting up a shoe giveaway for Metro Nashville Public School students at on Friday (5/14) at Rose Park Middle School from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m..

“My friends and I know that many of these students and families have had a tough year, and we wanted to do something to give back, boost their spirits, and have them end the year in style with some new shoes,” says Amadi. “We chose Rose Park Middle because we knew that many of the kids are at a stage in life when they are growing and going to need a new pair of shoes, and we know that many of the families live in parts of town that have been traditionally underserved and could benefit from having one more financial burden taken off their plate.”

Amadi will be joined with some of his NFL friends which include both current and former players. Athletes who will be at the giveaway include: Derek Barnett, Philadelphia Eagles; George Kittle, San Francisco 49ers; Corn Elder, Detroit Lions; Tyrel Dodson, Buffalo Bills; Golden Tate, New York Giants; Alex Ellis, Formerly Philadelphia Eagles; Caleb Scott, Formerly Seattle Seahawks; Daniel Bituli, Carolina Panthers; Dominique Dafney, Green Bay Packers; Robert Tonyan, Green Bay Packers; TJ Hockenson, Detroit Lions; Dont’a Hightower, New England Patriots; Jacob Phillips, Cleveland Browns; Ke’shawn Vaughn, Tampa Bay Buccaneers; Charlie Woerner, San Francisco 49ers; Eli Wolf, Baltimore Ravens; and Ethan Wolf, New Orleans Saints

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, participants in the event are limited to the players, students, MNPS staff, and media. The event is not open to the public.
